The international oilfield services company Discovery Energy Services continues its solid expansion process in Colombia, achieving growth results beyond normal parameters.

The close of 2012 resulted in a 3000% increase in revenue compared to what was generated in 2009.
The company had 4 employees in 2008; by 2013 it grew to 350 direct employees, and by 2014 it is projected to exceed 500 direct employees.

In its line of Drilling, Completion, and Workover Rigs, Discovery Energy Services currently offers the Colombian industry 10 rigs. The increase in the number of rigs is due to significantly high utilization, thanks to current contracts with companies such as: PETROBRAS, CHEVRON, PAREX Resources, GEOPARK, PETROMINERALES, EMERALD ENERGY, PERENCO, NEW GRANADA, among other important operating companies in the country. The company is developing large-scale, highly successful projects for its clients.

“I am proud and satisfied to know that the organization has achieved operational and QHSE results that allow us to feel confident as we approach the goal of completing 3 years without lost-time incidents on our rigs,” says Jairo Alfredo Peralta, Chief Executive Officer of the company. “We closed 2012 with zero accidents and operational incidents — results that in our line of work clearly demonstrate the extraordinary quality of the professionals and technicians that make up our organization and our adherence to processes and solid standards.”
“We have grown rapidly and will continue to do so sustainably, based on our policy of zero corruption, transparency, and complete honesty. It has been clear how all our clients feel comfortable with Discovery Energy, and it’s evident that they want and are able to renew their contracts without hesitation or doubt. In the oil industry, it’s clear that our company does not offer bribes or handle contracts dishonestly. Currently, all our clients, without exception, feel confident renewing their contracts with us — many of which have been ongoing for several years without concerns — thanks to the business conduct managed by the organization and the overall results it delivers,” adds Jairo Alfredo Peralta.

During the years of operation in Colombia — 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and through 2013 — the company has had no reported cases of occupational illness. The projects have consistently maintained client evaluation scores with average ratings above 4.5 out of a maximum of 5.0.

“Our goal for 2013 is to continue growing with absolute operational excellence, maintaining our core values as our hallmark and continuing to gain market share to further our national and international growth process,” concludes Jairo Alfredo Peralta, CEO.
