The oilfield services company, Discovery Energy Services Colombia S.A., continues its solid process of growth and market positioning in Colombia with excellent financial results. The close of the January 2012 to March 2012 period shows a 226% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2011. The billing for the period has exceeded $12,000,000,000 and aligns very well with the forecasts established for 2012.
In its line of Drilling, Completion, and Workover Rigs, Discovery Energy has doubled
the number of rigs in operation compared to the same period the previous year. Its
utilization is significantly higher, thanks to current contracts with companies such
as Petrobras, Chevron, PAREX Resources, WOGSA, and Emerald, among other major
operators in Colombia, which keep Discovery Energy highly utilized and engaged in
large-scale projects.
“Our success is based on always maintaining the highest operational, safety,
quality, and environmental standards in all our operations. In my view, there is no
real or sustainable growth in a company if it does not show a continuous improvement
process in its management system. The good financial results of an organization must
simply be a consequence of its operational success,” says Jairo Alfredo Peralta,
Chief Executive Officer of the company.
In the first week of May 2012, the company received the pleasant news from the CCS
(Colombian Safety Council) of having been awarded for the second consecutive year
the National Safety Award "White Cross – Advanced Category," a recognition given to
companies operating in Colombia with the best results in accident rates and
significant improvement in their management systems. This reaffirms its vision and
commitment to all its clients and employees.
“Ensuring the safety of all our collaborators is our priority. The people who give
their best every day to help Discovery Energy Services move forward with the best
results deserve a high level of commitment from us to ensure that everything is
aligned and configured so that safety comes first in all areas,” says Jairo Alfredo
Peralta.
